DNR Forestry has cost-share funds available to help woodland owners’ complete projects to improve forest health and habitat. Eligible projects include things like wildlife and pollinator habitat improvement, tree planting, deer protection, invasive species removal, tree thinning, and forest road work. Funds can also be used for woodland stewardship plans.
If you are interested in a project on your land, SWCD forestry staff can help you with designing your project and submitting an application. There is no minimum project size, however, landscaping and grazed lands are not eligible.
More information can be found on the DNR’s Cost-share for Woodland Owners webpage: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/woodlands/cost-share.html
