White oak is a large, sprawling tree that typically grows to heights of 50 to 80 feet and widths of similar dimensions. White Oak prefers deep, well-drained, acidic soils, usually sand or sandy loam. Its deep roots make it very drought resistant and it is long-lived with a typical lifespan of 200-300 years. Acorns are a valuable food source for wildlife.
