Quercus alba
Bundle of 25
5-12″ 2-0 Seedling

A large forest tree growing up to 100 feet, White Oak prefers deep, well-drained, acidic soils, usually sand or sandy loam. Its deep roots make it very drought resistant. White Oak is slow growing and long- lived at 500—600 years. Given space, it will grow broad and tall. In spring the young leaves are a delicate, silvery pink and covered with soft down, turning maroon in fall and persisting well into winter. Acorns are prized by wildlife, and the hardwood, is water and rot-resistant. Do not plant near power lines.
